Data Sources
Every number on DeepColleges comes from public, auditable sources maintained by the U.S. federal government or published directly by universities:
- College Scorecard — U.S. Department of Education. Admissions data, net costs by income bracket, median earnings by program, completion rates, loan default rates.
- IPEDS — National Center for Education Statistics. Enrollment details, transfer-in rates, program-level completions, demographics, housing capacity.
- Common Data Set (CDS) — Published by each university. Contains admission factor weights — how much each school values GPA, test scores, essays, extracurriculars, and AP courses.
